The Birthday Post! A Present to You from Juice Beauty

03 July 2012

There's been many fun milestones in my first year at blogging. Like sitting here on a gorgeous birthday morning and writing a post to my lovely blog friends. So first and foremost, thank you for all that you contribute to the blog world and Pancakes & Beet Juice. It was a fun highlight of last year and I'm sure it is going to get even better with age (both the blog's and its author's).

Two weeks ago I was feeling the need for a little pre-birthday makeover. After hearing some great things about Juice Beauty products, I read about their Green Apple Peel and treated myself to a jar. As a lover of my morning beet, carrot, lemon and greens juice, the name definitely caught my attention, as did the word organic in their product description. I treat foods labeled "all natural" and organic quite differently, and I had never seen an organic brand of facial products get such great online reviews from mainstream retailers before.

After just one use I was hooked to the peel and now I love using it about twice a week to keep things so fresh and so clean. I love slathering it on when I get home on Friday after work, as it keeps my skin glow-y (official skin care term) to go makeup free throughout the weekend.

My secret favorite part of the formula, though, is the fermented apple smell that it has. Markus' Opa has a garden at his house in Heidelberg, Germany, with a big green apple tree. He loves to collect the fallen apples and ferment them for fresh wines and schnapps. The smell of this peel is exactly like the welcoming smell of Opa's moonshine shed! It reminds me of our trips there and climbing the tree to get more apples for eating and adding to the schnapps barrel.

Climbing the apple tree for Opa as he looks on with  attention.
Both Opa and I celebrate birthdays this week, 80 and 27, respectively. When I wrote Juice Beauty to thank them for making such awesome products and they offered me a coupon code to share with friends, I knew it would be a great way to celebrate our birthdays!

Now through July 15, use PANCAKES at JuiceBeauty.com checkout to get $10 off orders of $50 or more with free U.S. Shipping!

I can't wait to use my code on a new cleaner and the Green Apple Nutrient Eye Cream, because as of 12:01am today, I'm in my late twenties and part of the anti-aging group.

In exchange for my gift to you, may I ask one tiny birthday favor? I would love a birthday blog roll with comments from YOU - my favorite readers! It always tickles me when I meet someone who reads lil ol Pancakes & Beet Juice, whether its my mom, a friend or someone who found me from the interwebs. There's nothing better than a blog roll to see who's stopping by so I can know who's enjoying the party! I'm always looking for blogs to add to my reading list and I'd love to make sure you're included!

Off to eat a big stack of birthday pancakes!

Love,

Lilly
